History - 2006 Challenge X (Second Year)

Thanks to the strong showing in the first year, UWAFT more than proved themselves worthy to receive a brand new Chevy Equinox for modification.  With the arrival of the vehicle came a multitude of challenges to overcome.  The team had to remove all the components that were associated with the internal combustion engine and then find a way to fit the fuel cell components in their place.  After a long year and may sleepless nights, the Equinox was finally roadworthy and ready for competition.

Competition the second year centred on vehicle integration and driveablility.  There were many dynamic events and though UWAFT struggled somewhat coping with the desert heat in the Arizona Mesa, they were still able to come away with a few awards.
