Part of UWAFT's mandate is to promote alternative fuels and technologies. UWAFT accomplishes this feat by showcasing an extensive outreach program. Outreach activities include participation in numerous parades, automotive events, and campus activities. At these events, the team's focus is on promoting alternative fuels with an emphasis on the Challenge X competition.
